Filtering QC Items

You can filter the Items collection by using the filters on: https://qc.ebu.io/items/

Quick filter

The Quick filter allows you to quickly filter the Items shown, by text.

Advanced filters

The Advanced filters allow you to filter in a much more granular way. The fields you can filter by depend on your access level. They include Text (which also searches Tags), Tags, Category, Layer, Organisation (🧪 experimental) and Card types, plus Watching for logged-in users. Editors can also filter by Template, Lead editor and Status ('published', 'drafting', etc.). The 'last modified after' and 'last modified before' filters can be especially useful when looking for specific edits, e.g. for Editors who are involved in drafting and reviews.

Note that the Items you see depend on your rights. Users without the Editor role (logged in or not) see the latest published or withdrawn version of each Item. Editors see the latest version of each Item, whatever its status.

Available views

Editors have a total of 5 different Item Views to select from, in the Items menu. Everyone else sees the Published view only:

  • Published <- shows the latest 'published' or 'withdrawn' version of each Item (provided it has one of these). This view is the default view and it is available to all users. The URL https://qc.ebu.io/items/ redirects to this view.
  • In review <- shows all Items that have as latest status anything else than 'Drafting', 'Published' or 'Withdrawn'. This view helps those involved in the review process to focus on Items waiting to be moved to a next phase.
  • Work in progress <- shows all Items that have as latest status anything else than 'Published' or 'Withdrawn' (so Drafting, the review statuses, Publication ready and Contentious).
  • Never published <- shows Items that have no published or withdrawn version (yet).
  • Latest versions <- shows the latest version of each Item, regardless of its status. Note this hides any underlying states. E.g. an Item may have been published as version 1.0, but if it now exist as in 'drafting' with version 1.0.1, it will show as the latter.

Export (CSV)

For Editors and Organisation representatives, the Advanced filters also include an 'Export (CSV, API v1 + Organisations)' button. It exports the filtered Items in CSV format, with the API v1 columns plus the Organisation tags.

Note the export is in 'UTF 8'. If you try to open this in Microsoft Excel, you may need to signal this explicitly. See for Example: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/excel/open-and-edit-a-csv-file-in-utf8/m-p/1035542
