QC Test Material - Collections
QC Test Material can be grouped in Collections.
These are basically sets of references to existing Test Material.
The main use case is to gather material for a specific purpose, e.g. EBU Group work, without the need to copy/duplicate the material itself.
The difference between normal Test Material 'Folders' and 'Collections' is indicated by a different icon:
- Folders: white folder icon.
- Collections: black 'chest case' icon.
Please note that:
- Test Material Collections may be limited in terms of access rights/visibility.
- Test Material inside of a Collection keeps its original access rights.
Example:
- If a Collection is public, but contains restricted Test Material Items, it depends on the end-user's rights whether they can see the material.
Owner and co-editors
Collections use the same model as Test Material:
- The Owner (the person who created the collection, unless ownership was handed over) can edit it, change its privacy, choose co-editors, hand over ownership and delete it (deleting also needs the test-material uploader role).
- Co-editors (QC Editors only, chosen by the owner) can always see the collection and can change its name, description, folder and contents. They cannot change its privacy, co-editors or owner, and cannot delete it.
- A collection can be downloaded as a zip file (the same 1 GB limit as for folders applies) and its properties can be exported.
- Collection names follow the same rule as Test Material titles: letters, digits, spaces, periods, underscores and dashes only.
- Creating a collection requires the test-material uploader role; being a co-editor does not.
