Your account
Once you are signed in, your name at the top right opens the Account menu. It has two pages: what qc.ebu.io knows about you, and which e-mails it sends you.
My data
My data is a read-only summary of the data qc.ebu.io holds about your account. It exists so you can see that information without having to ask for it, which is your right of access under the GDPR.
It shows:
- Profile - your name, e-mail address, company, last sign-in and last activity. These come from your EBU account rather than being set here; see Signing in.
- Roles - the roles you hold, as coloured badges (see User roles). Handy when something you expect to see is missing.
- Privacy - whether you have acknowledged the privacy notice, and the date of the notice you acknowledged.
- Activity summary - how many Test Material downloads are recorded against your account.
- Your contributions - how many QC Item versions, Templates and Test Material versions you have authored.
- Recent audit-trail entries - the ten most recent actions recorded against your account.
Administrators can open the My data page of another user, for support. That is logged.
The page changes nothing. To correct your name, address or company, update your EBU account; to have your account anonymised, e-mail tech@ebu.ch.

Notification settings
Notifications controls the e-mail qc.ebu.io sends you. Until you turn notifications on you receive none, unless you are a member of the QC group (see below).
- A master switch. While it is off you receive no notification e-mail of any kind, whatever the settings below say.
- Which statuses you care about, from the list in Status. Every edit of a QC Item saves a new version, and you are e-mailed when that version has one of the statuses you tick, whether the Item has just moved to that status or was already in it. There are two columns with the same options: All QC Items and QC Items I am watching. A state ticked for all Items also applies to the Items you watch, so it appears ticked (and fixed) in the watching column. Tick "Any change" to be told about every new version, whatever its status.
- Discussions you take part in. You are e-mailed about a discussion (opened, new post, closed or deleted) when you posted in it, or are the editor it is assigned to, whether or not you watch the QC Item. This is on by default and can be switched off. For editor discussions you must still be a member of an editor group. You are never e-mailed about your own actions.
- Digest. Instead of one e-mail per event you can receive one summary e-mail, grouped by QC Item, once the oldest waiting notification is 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes old. It is on by default (15 minutes). Switch it off to get each e-mail straight away.
- Lead-editor settings, which apply only to the QC Items you are the Lead Editor of, and are separate from the choices above so that owning an Item never depends on remembering to watch it. You can be notified about any change to your Items, about user discussions on them, about editor discussions on them, and about being assigned or removed as Lead Editor. All of these are on by default.
Defaults for the QC group
Members of the QC group (the editors) do the technical review, so they should hear when a review begins, and about every update made during it, even for Items they do not watch. When you join the QC group, whether you are a new user or already had an account, your settings are added to once: notifications on, Tech Review and Group Review ticked for all Items, and every change ticked for the Items you watch. This is added on top of what you had already selected and never replaces it, so you only ever receive more messages, not fewer. If you already had an account and something changed, you also receive an e-mail saying so. The members at the time this was introduced were switched over in the same way. Users outside the QC group are not affected.
While you stay in the QC group, what you set is kept: you can change any of this, or switch notifications off, on the Notifications page at any time. If you leave the QC group and later rejoin it, the defaults are applied again (and you are e-mailed again).
Offer to turn notifications on
If you start watching an Item, or become the Lead Editor of one, while your notifications are off, qc.ebu.io shows a box asking whether you want to turn them on. Choose Turn on notifications, or Not now to keep them off (the box then stays away).
